Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee has touched a raw nerve at the Anti-Defamation League by using the word “holocaust” in reference to abortion.
In an address before the recent Values Voter Summit, hosted in Washington by the conservative Research Council, the former Arkansas governor and longtime Baptist minister said:
“Sometimes we talk about why we’re importing so many people in our work force. It might be for the last 35 years, we have aborted more than a million people who would have been in our work force had we not had the holocaust of liberalized abortion under a flawed Supreme Court ruling in 1973.”
In a letter expressing outrage to Governor Huckabee, ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman said:
“The Holocaust was a unique tragedy in human history – an attempt by the Nazis to exterminate the Jewish people that led to the deliberate murder of six million Jews. We find the use of analogies to the Holocaust in other contexts deeply painful, disturbing and offensive.”
Foxman’s comments sparked outrage among the “Exterminators of America” which kills bugs.
“You know how long do we have to put up with the word “exterminate” being used in a derogatory fashion. This is a good job. I went to school for three weeks to learn how to kill bugs. Everytime someone uses the word “exterminate” in a negative sense it costs me money and takes food out of my children’s mouth. Everyone should just be a man and stop being so offended all the time.”
The exterminator’s comments sparked an outrage among the National Organization of Women who said they took offense at the exterminators use of the cliche “be a man.” The feminist organization said the comments were so outrageous as to put the cause of civil rights for women back thirty years. Said the NOw spokeseperson:
“Civil rights for women is the most crucial issue of our day because we are the most persecuted minority in the country today.”
However, the remarks made by the feminists sparked outrage among homosexuals across the country.
“How could feminists argue they’re a persecuted minority. They’re a majority for God’s sake.”
Then Mike Huckabee announced he was outraged that the homosexual spokesperson took the Lord’s name in vain.
“We must exterminate usage of the Lord’s name in vain from public discourse…
