Wow.

Look at what’s happening in Maine right now. Look at it closely, because if you want to understand where the culture is going, where the power structure is taking us, this is the blueprint.

A state court in Portland, Maine just decided that a mother no longer has the First Amendment right to take her own daughter to church. Think about that for a second. The Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled that a father can strip his ex-wife of her right to bring their child to an evangelical church. Why? Because the court agreed the church’s traditional Christian teachings were “psychologically damaging the child.”

They’re actually claiming that hearing about the Rapture caused the girl anxiety.

Since when did state judges become the ultimate authority on spiritual theology? Since when does the government get to step in, look at a standard Christian doctrine that millions of Americans have believed for generations, and declare it a hazardous biohazard to a child’s mind?

The father argued the church was a “dangerous and harmful environment.” And the courts, eager, as always, to police traditional faith, swooped right in. They didn’t just side with him; they handed him total veto power over the girl’s entire religious upbringing, explicitly banning her from interacting with members of that church.

It is open hostility to religious freedom. Plain and simple.

The mother’s lawyer, Mathew Staver from Liberty Counsel, is taking this straight to the U.S. Supreme Court as he should. Because if a local judge in Maine can outlaw church attendance under the guise of protecting a child from “anxiety,” then the First Amendment doesn’t actually exist anymore. It’s just a suggestion. And the state will decide which beliefs are safe for your family, and which ones are illegal.

To be clear, courts have ruled that men have ZERO say in whether a woman aborts their child. But this Maine court is now saying he can veto religious upbringing? Make it make sense? There is no logical thru-line other than siding with death and anti-Christianity.

This is an extremely dangerous decision with national implications. Watch it.
