Today, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), following a question on a bill under consideration in the House which would safeguard babies capable of feeling pain nationwide by banning abortion past 20 weeks gestation, said: “As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me. I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List, made the following remarks:

“As a mother and practicing Catholic, I have a modest proposal for Mrs. Pelosi: that she consider the Church’s teaching which says each life is sacred and reject the idea that each abortion is.“
