Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tweeted last night:
#SecClinton: The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. state.gov
Ha. On two levels.
Firstly, this is surely the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. When the mobs yesterday killed an American in Libya, destroyed the consulate, and burned the American flag, the embassy released a statement condemning those who would “hurt the religious feelings” of Muslims. Then President Obama came out and distanced himself from that statement. But then Hillary tweeted the above statement.
Secondly, Ha. The Obama administration doesn’t denigrate the religious beliefs of others? What?
It’s funny, I don’t think “religious tolerance” when I think Obama. Isn’t this the same president who said “it’s not fair” that Catholic organizations don’t cover abortifacients and contraceptives?
Isn’t this the same president that named Harry Knox to his faith based advisory council even after Knox said things like Pope Benedict XVI is “hurting people in the name of Jesus,” because the Holy Father does not support the promotion of the use of condoms as a means to stop the spread of HIV.
Knox also described the Pope as a “discredited leader” and the Knights of Columbus as a “discredited army of oppression.”
So when Hillary Clinton says that the U.S. “deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others” I guess they don’t really mean Catholicism. Just Islam.
