Senator Frank Lautenberg clearly needs his meds changed. Complaining about GOP attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, the genius Lautenberg dropped some pearls of wisdom on us saying those who seek to defund abortion clinics are like Muslims…or something.
“If they had their way, the reproductive rights of American women would be tossed away and it sounds to me like a Third World country that’s requiring women to wear head shawls to cover their faces even if they don’t want to do it,” said Lautenberg. “This is America. It’s not one of the third world countries that we see these tragic decisions hoisted upon the women.”
Huh? What?
So refusing to be forced to pay for other people’s abortions makes us radical Islamists?
That’s how bent these people are. To them, refusing to fund abortions is soooo third world. The funny thing is that Lautenberg seems a heck of a lot more interested in fighting pro-lifers than he is radical Islamists.

Come now. He's simply saying, with elliptical hyperbole, that if we had our way, abortion would be banned altogether–that we not only do not want our tax dollars to pay for abortions, that we don't want abortion to happen at all. And, of course, we don't. And *that's* why he thinks we're like third world barbarians.

(please read out loud with a sarcastic tone) It is so much more civilized to give a woman a tax-payer funded clinical procedure that vacuums their child from their womb by ripping it limb from limb. Those barbarians in those third-world countries are still giving birth to their children!

Wearing a head scarf is a "tragic decision"-no, if you are a Muslim it is a sign of your faith.
And these tragic decisions are "hoisted" upon the women.
I think he means "foisted."
I think 'tragic decision' is part of the talking points about abortion and he didn't think it really mattered where the words went if you just got them all in there. And hey, hoisted, foisted…like flaunt, and flaut, really, who knows the difference?

No, I think they actually use a hoist in third world countries.

I love the rhetoric used by Senator Lautenberg. Saying "Reproductive rights of American women" for the horrific slaughtering of unborn children is the same as using the term "sexual rights of Americans" when referring to rapists.
How can you refer to Muslims covering their heads as a sign of their faith as "a tragic decision hoisted upon women". What about the tragic decision hoisted upon innocent, un-born children?
