finance, financial crisis, fr. barron

Great clip by Fr. Barron, but at this point very dated. The principles still apply of course. The world in which they had wide application is largely over.
In principle our normality of easy prosperity is over. We still have time to cushion the blow somewhat and should make use of our time and resources to do just that- for ourselves and our communities.
At this point priests need to be giving arguments against despair, suicide. They need to be talking up almsgiving.
Deacons need to be suggesting that fathers of families load up on food while a paycheck is still coming in. People should be buying seeds to plant victory gardens next spring and to equip themselves to do a lot of canning.
Bishops need to be arguing against hyper-inflationary policies that threaten those on fixed incomes with annihilation and suggesting that single family zoning laws need to be relaxed to permit families to move in with one another as they did in the Depression. Etc, etc.
