Great commentary. I loved this movie when I saw it, and the perspective really fits. Those of you who haven’t seen it yet, see the movie before you watch Fr. Barron’s video. It is a great flick.

Am I the only one who hated this movie? I watched the whole thing scrunched back in my seat, recoiling from the hatred spewed from almost every character. The foul language was over-the-top, the racial slurs were unending, the contempt of the young priest was embarrassing, and I could go on and on. Walt taught Tao "how to be a man" by coaching him to be verbally violent, cursing & slurring strangers. Is that really any different from the gang who would want to coach Tao to be physically violent?
If I was in a social situation and heard that language and attitude I would have gotten up from the table and left. I'm sorry I sat through two hours of it AND paid for it.
