Call it the Fr. Jenkins curse. Call it the Curse of the Irish. Whatever. All I’m saying is that since Fr. Jenkins extended his invitation to President Barack Obama:
Notre Dame basketball fell to Penn State which dominated most of the game last night leading by double digits most of the way. Notre Dame made a late rally pulling to within four points but Penn State pulled away with a comfortable 67-59 win.
Last week, the Fighting Irish hockey team–a #1 seed in the NCAA hockey tourney–got housed by the #16 seed Bemidji State. That’s right Bemidji State.
I’m telling you now that unless Fr. Jenkins rescinds the invitation to Obama, the Notre Dame football team might be effected to by the Jenkins curse and start to really stink…Oh wait.

Regis Philbin must be dying about now, huh?
April 1, 2009 at 3:18 pm
I think he’s 223 years old so it’s probably about time. Just kidding. CMR likes Regis but we’d feel a lot more comfortable about him if he didn’t look exactly the same for the past three decades.

That could be God’s plan as it would tick off the other Notre Dame lovers who are not pro-life Catholics.
Notre Dame hockey was the #2 seed but ranked #1 in the country. I picked them to win it all in my hockey tournament pool. So, if I have to suffer for this then ND better wise up! 🙂

The State of Bemidji must be one of the 54 states Hiz Wershipniss visited during his kampaign.

When I heard about the Bemidji State game, I search on Google. From the first result:
“The first search result on Google for “Bemidji State vs. Notre Dame” says of Bemidji State:
“Their most encouraging games of the season were back-to-back 3-4 losses to North Dakota, one coming in overtime. This game will be the equivalent of 16-seed Chattanooga going up against UConn or Radford playing UNC in the first round of basketball.”

The team members are upset, so they cannot perform. Thanks Jenkins.

I believe the same thing happened to DePaul some time ago. They took out the crucifixes, installed the V Monologues and LGTBQXYSZ studies and their basketball prowess went from exciting talent that choked at the last minute to snorers who can’t get two wins in a row.
I just know that when they put some Catholics back in charge of DePaul (I am not counting many of the Vincentians there now), that the saints will implore the Almighty to put a power forward and super-smart-quick point guard in a Blue Demon uniforms.
And I will faint with excitement.

Fenton, Bemidji State is in Minnesota, OK. This means that they should beat the likes of ND.

Whoops, maybe I was wrong about the seeding. You’d think if they’re ranked #1 they’d be the #1 seed… It’s as messed up as the BCS.
Matthew, no, my blog’s been out of commission for a few years now. Thanks for asking, though.
