Elton John recently said that Jesus was a gay genius.
Now, Elton’s theological ramblings aren’t to be taken too seriously but I think that there’s a lot of Elton Johns out there. By that I don’t mean there’s millions of flamboyant rockers with funny sunglasses. But I do think it’s rather telling that Elton sees Jesus as a homosexual and a genius as Elton himself is a homosexual and could easily be called a musical genius. Weird, huh?
I don’t think Elton is alone in this kind of thinking. I think people often see Jesus in a narrow way, as a reflection of themselves.

Interesting take Matthew. The Bible states the man was created in the image and likeness of God but, Elton John is creating God in his image and likeness. I guess he needs to remove those funny colored sunglasses so that he will stop seeing the Lord in shades of pink.
How does one do that? I think sincere and open meditation and prayer will lead to the encounter of the living Jesus – as He is and not as we want Him to be.

The problem with people like Elton John (who wants to adopt a child) and Rosie O'Donnell, et al, is that for the very same reasons you cite, their children are likely also destined to be gay geniuses.

Hope you don't mind if I quote some of your article to my CCD class on Sunday. These young people have made their Confirmation and our class is on Catholic Morality.
Articles like yours are a great assist.

Sure, Matthew. You say this now, but what happens, when you find out (yet again) that your brother is gay (like some other "anonymous" celebrity)? Surely you'll come 'round to the progressive point of view, leave the church, and for one-upmanship make a cameo-appearance on Oprah!
