Read this sickening piece about Bart Stupak and then go read the rest of this piece at The Corner. Democrats have argued to Stupak that abortion is good and necessary because real live kids cost money:
Stupak notes that his negotiations with House Democratic leaders in recent days have been revealing. “I really believe that the Democratic leadership is simply unwilling to change its stance,” he says. “Their position says that women, especially those without means available, should have their abortions covered.” The arguments they have made to him in recent deliberations, he adds, “are a pretty sad commentary on the state of the Democratic party.”
What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”
Read the whole thing at The Corner.
We’ve all known this was true but to hear it from a Democrat is still pretty shocking. Sooooo…now that we’re all clear life has a pricetag, who wants to deny that Obamacare includes death panels now?

It's beginning to appear that Bart Stupak may make something of a name for himself in history. It's ironic, these Congressmen want to do something great and big and memorable… No one considers being a principled voice for what you believe to be big and memorable.
That's the sad state of our nation.

Interesting. More children will be born so it will cost more money. I get that. However, in 25 years, those bothersome children will be contributing to the tax base. Since the children will have been aborted, as a cost saving measure, they will not be able to contribute , then the government will have to make a plan to pay people to have more children.
Also, if more women are having abortions, the rate of Post-abortion syndrome will go up, so they will need to seek counseling/psychiatric therapy, costing money. Of course, the therapy will go on for years, because "Post-abortion syndrome" is not real, so the therapist and doctors will keep trying to get to the bottom of the woman's "issues". That isn't going to be cheap.

Remember the outroar a few years ago when someone said that abortion reduces crime rates, esp among minorities. This is the same thing.
Also if thmedical reform is about saving money then why should we believe there aren't death panels either?

Those dummies don't understand that the costs of birth and childhood illnesses are a lost let expensive than caring for the elderly.
The 50,000,000 aborted babies would have turned out to have grown up to be taxpayers who'd have contributed to the solvency of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
Do the Math, progressives – all that money to Planned Parenthood is not an investment in the health of our citizens.

Notice how quickly dear Mr Waxman issued his spin yesterday saying that he supports the law of the land: aka the Hyde Amendment.
Now let's see, if I had to decide whether to believe Stupak's or Waxman's version of the story, which would it be??? Geez, what a no-brainer.

Stupak, my congressman, is a liberal except for guns and abortion. He has been calling for national health care single-payer style for years. The fact that he takes this stand against abortion says a lot about his character. This stand makes him many enemies on the left.He has killed any chance for statewide office because the Dem party machine would not ever fund him now. God bless him!

I know nothing about Stupak being form Ukraine, but the money argument against is just stupid. State doesn't generate the money for the country. They get it from the people. So they should not use the argument at all. But it's the states objective to guaranty healthy society – less abortion, more health. Next, I think that being pro-abortion in the US is like being pro-terrorism. Instead of giving birth to Americans who will be raised in American culture, your government prefers to accept immigrants from other countries who will not become Americans for two generations. This reduces the moral and national power of your country. And these people will not fight American wars or defend the country, just because they don't think it theirs. In Ukraine we have a big mess of political and economical problems, but at least the government pays something like a year's worth of salary (1st child – 12,000 UAH, 2nd child – 25000 UAH, 3rd child – 50 000 UAH, i make about 40000 a year for comparison).
