I heard Michele Bachmann state today in an interview that since the President signed the health care bill into law, the federal government now owns or controls, for the first time ever, 51% of the US GDP. Car makers, insurance companies, home mortgages, student loans, and now the health care system. If Ms. Bachmann is correct, the word “socialism” is no longer simply an alarmist word to throw at political opponents . It is simply the truth.
Just in case we need a reminder, here’s the type of movie my parents watched as kids. Which ideas do you think Nancy Pelosi and Barak Obama most need to hear? Post your favorite phrases from the video in the comments.

Favorite line:
"We needed weenies. Mr. Brown has weenies."

It's not a system of government ownership? Hmmm…so we must change the phrase from "We the people" to "We the Lobbyists" then.

"Hasn't it given us the highest standard of living in the world?"
"The government oughta keep it's hands off business!"

I'm sorry I have to go with the Weenies line too! Capitalism or Socialism does it matter as long as Mr. Brown has weenies?

Everyone is making profit on weenies

Weenies. Heh. The kids could not get past that.

Enough with the weenies. My favorite phrase is not a phrase, but a word appropriately mentioned many times in this film: FREEDOM. Make no mistake, that is what we are fighting for in this nation right now, seemingly against the odds. As far as what part of this O and P (medical joke) need to hear right now: even this sophomoric (but worthy) effort is above their pay grades. But I wish they understood these facts as well as those kids. Where did you find this gem? Kit
P.S. I second the choices of Diane, above. Those were the lines that struck me, too.

A system of private ownership and government contol is not called socialism. It's called facsism.
