No kidding: I teach at a Catholic high school in California and the religion department discussed how to handle questions from students regarding Proposition 8 and all its related moral issues. The recommendation made by the chair was that for "theologically sensitive topics" teachers should only facilitate discussing various points of view instead of seeing their role as being a supplier of answers. There was almost no willingness among the teachers to teach the Catholic Church's doctrine as the truth or as the right answer, and almost no willingness to see the role of religion teacher as guiding students towards Catholic faith as defined by the magisterium. The parody video is a biting satire, but only because it sadly presents the truth about what religion classes in Catholic schools and CCD programs have deteriorated to become.
This is why I am choosing to home school my children. This is what society teaches. "You must be tolerant and only intolerant of intolerance. There is no right and wrong." I am sorry but I've always spoken my mind. That is part of the reason I was not asked to return to a private catholic school. I was to traditionally catholic and called them out on not only their tolerance of other religious ideas but their right out teaching of these ideas as possible truth. I strongly believe that there is a right and wrong and there is a one true church and that is the catholic church. I was ridiculed for wearing a scapula and veiling my head in front of the blessed sacrament by so called "Catholic" individuals in the Hierarchy . If this is what they teach in Catholic schools what do you think it is like in the public school system. No wonder this world is going to hell in a hand basket.

This isn't just the problem in religion classes… or Catholic schools. This is what's wrong with education in general and society at large.
As a public educator, I've been told my role should be the "guide on the side" not the "sage on a stage".
There's also this little chestnut: "They won't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
Sorry. This was funny, but it cut too close for the giggles to last.
