Because Americans don’t know what to think until the guy who starred in “Footloose” tells them what to think, the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights organization, is sponsoring ads in New York to urge people to support gay marriage.
This one has Julianne Moore saying something like real New Yorkers support gay marriage.
Future ads will feature Kevin Bacon, Whoopi Goldberg, Fran Drescher, Kyra Sedgwick, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Rev. Al Sharpton.
Sharpton? Whoopi? The Nanny? Seriously? Wouldn’t they be better off getting someone who has even an ounce of credibility with non-liberals who might be on the fence about gay marriage? But I think all they’re really doing is trying to tell people that all the cool people are cool with gay marriage so you wanna’ be cool too, doncha’ cool guy?
It’s laughable. Stupid. And because it’s New York, it’ll probably work.
