The poor dears at Planned Parenthood are in a tizzy. According to The Politico, in an emergency move they’re purchasing $200,000 worth of ad time to beg for continuing their federal funding.
Imagine that, they’re afraid they’re not going to be able to rob from the rich to kill the poor. Awww.
Hmmm…but this ad makes me think Big Abortion is getting a little nervous.
Now, I’ve got to ask that since Planned Parenthood swears that none of the money they receive from the feds goes to abortion (haha) does the taxpayer money they receive go to buying television ads? Wouldn’t that be ironic if they were using federal taxpayer money in order to buy ads begging for more taxpayer funding?
Here’s their ad. Funny, no mention of abortion.
Jim Geraghty correctly points out “if you can afford to spend $200,000 on television ads, maybe you don’t need all of that federal funding.”
Update 11:28: This is why I love the SBA List. This is the perfect response. PP puts up $200,000 and the SBA List does the same arguing for defunding and initiates a grassroots tour.
Today, the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced the launch of a 14-stop grassroots tour and $200,000 ad campaign in support of its efforts to defund Planned Parenthood in the Continuing Resolution (CR). Starting tomorrow, the “Women Speaking Out” campaign will launch a series of television and radio ad buys thanking Members of Congress who stood up for women, young girls and taxpayers with their vote for Rep. Mike Pence’s (R-IN) amendment to deny all taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood
Here’s the first:

The breast exams they do can be done at any clinic. They're merely manual exams, not mammograms.

Interesting that she says without Planned Parenthood she wouldn't be here today. Maybe she doesn't realize that without Planned Parenthood, millions of babies would be here today.

A few months back a fundraising letter from Planned Parenthood somehow found my way into my mailbox. Even in a letter to its most ardent supporters they couldn't bring themselves to use the "a" word. What a bunch of duplicitous monsters.

Anyone who is involved with Planned "Parenthood" is evil and will burn in hell.

Just a few days ago, Cecile Richards was going around saying tha PP did mammagrams. The fact is, they don't. They're not licensed to do that, only manual breast exams, which women can actually do for themselves at home. They were caught in the lie by vigilant pro-lifers and have evidently changed their tune, witness the term "breast exams" in the video.
And the lady in the video couldn't have had her cancer diagnosed by a non-PP gynecologist? Please.

About the SBAL ad…Rep. Buerkle is probably the most vulnerable representative in NY, which loses two seats. She barely won her seat in a Democratic-leaning territory (500-550 votes). I hope NY keeps her.

The question to ask is, "Why can't Planned Parenthood still do all those things without taxpayer funding?" All they have to do is end their abortion business, their sex "education" come-ons to teens and young adults, and the millions of dollars of political lobbying. Voilà! They can be self-supporting.

Pro-lifers are taking action. If you haven't seen the pro-life flash mob in IL last Sat., click here or go to http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2011/02/pro-life-flash-mob-in-chicago-surprises.html
It is encouraging and uplifting.

The civil rights of every sovereign person who is still enjoying minority standing under the law is held in trust for them by God, (In God We Trust) by their parents, and finally, by the state and community as our constitutional posterity (Preamble) enjoying the common good. Before being raised to the Supreme Court for the United States of America, Ruth Bader Ginsberg was lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, then Professor of Law at Rutgers University in New Jersey. (Does everybody know that the lawyer of every civil rights case in America is funded by our tax dollars? Oh, yes, this is why Michael Newdow, the atheist, is making millions of dollars off his stupid belief in no God. Oh Yes, Michael Newdow is offended by our civil right to our religious belief in God, our peaceable assembly, our speech and our press. Media take note. Repudiating himself and his citizenship, the atheist and the abortionist have no legal standing in a court of law having vanquished themselves, by becoming seditionists and traitors, by vilifying our founding principles set forth in The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. The atheist and the abortionist are to learn. Never, never to lead. It is time to take our nation back to innocence and virginity. It is time to take our tax dollars back, too, from thieves and charlatans, traitors and the demon possessed)
Ruth Bader Ginsberg authored a book in which she called for all 14 year old girls to be sexually liberated and for prostitution be legalized for all 14 year olds, who are not old enough to vote, drive a car, be gainfully employed, or stay out after 10 PM. but old enough to fill the abortion mills with their flesh and blood, old enough to fill hospitals with sexually transmitted disease, to be impregnated with HIV/AIDS, herpes, tubal infections and the yet undiagnosed and undocumented human misery consequent to sexual intimacy with every fornicator, adulterer, predator, and the devil possessed. One Christmas Eve the legislature made the age of consent to be 14. Only when the tar and feathers came out did the legislature consider their constituents. The abortionist has been sucking the life out of our country and our people for too long. Let them get gainful employment and learn how to read the Declaration of Independence.

A followup…
It seems that Rep. Buerkle's neighbor and fellow GOP freshman, Rep. Hanna, voted against the amendment. As New York stands to lose two seats, theirs may be merged together as they are in the same media market (Syracuse). Perhaps this will be remembered in Upstate come 2012.
