Bruce Jenner who now wishes to be called Caitlyn will be honored at the ESPY’s with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. This award says nothing about Jenner and everything about ABC/Disney/ESPN.
Let’s see who wasn’t courageous enough for ESPN.
Lauren Hill.
The plight of Mount St. Joseph basketball player Lauren Hill, who courageously battled brain cancer while continuing to play on the university’s basketball team, captivated a nation. There was no way to watch that young girl living her dream and not feel moved, inspired. Hill lost her fight against cancer on April 10. But the 19 year old taught us all that dying means you’re still living and while you’re still living you can achieve dreams and you can inspire others and yes, you can change the world.
But I guess the girl who said in an interview, “I told God I would speak for all the little kids who couldn’t speak…who can’t express their symptoms like I can. I’m not fighting for myself. I’m fighting for others” wasn’t courageous enough for ESPN.
