A European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled employers are free to ban religious symbols from the workplace.

The case came to the court because two Muslim women were fired for refusing to remove their headscarf. Of course, the implications for every religious person are clear.

Under EU law, an employer can fire an employee to maintain a secular corporate image. That will include crucifixes, turbans, and headscarves, and yarmulkes.

The ECJ states that the ruling “does not constitute direct discrimination” because it “treats all employees of the undertaking in the same way.”

And to me, that’s it right there. The goal of the left is not freedom but equality. That’s the difference right there. It doesn’t matter if you have liberty, it’s just important that everyone is treated equally.
