Yale Dean, Champion of Diversity, Scorns “White Trash.” Yale Cool with That.

Yale does not have a problem with this. The professor “apologized” and everything’s hunky dory.

A dean at Yale University who championed cultural sensitivity has apologized for her “insensitive” Yelp reviews of restaurants, gyms and movie theaters, including hot takes on what “white trash” customers would find tasty and employees she blasted as “barely educated morons.”
June Chu, dean of Yale’s Pierson College, apologized for the offending reviews, which had been circulating among students for several months, after the Yale Daily News published screenshots on Saturday.

“To put it quite simply: If you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!” Chu wrote in one review of a Japanese restaurant. “This establishment is definitely not authentic by any stretch of any imagination and perfect for those low class folks who believe this is a real night out. Over salted and greasy food. Side note: employees are Chinese, not Japanese.”

Other reviews by Chu, who identified herself as a Chinese-American on the website, focused on her prowess to evaluate a Japanese rice cake as an authentic critic.

“Remember: I am Asian,” Chu wrote. “I know mocha. These are not good and overpriced. They are ice cream mocha which are small in size and easily become freezer burned if not stored well … I guess if you were a white person who has clue what mocha is, this would be fine for you.”

In another review of a movie theater, Chu called the employees there “barely educated morons trying to manage snack orders for the obese” while trying to do simple math.

Why should they? Here’s the thing, once you shun Christian values, there is no mandate to love all. That’s the thing we forget. We think we’re all playing from the same playbook. They’re not.

There’s no possible way to look at the secular progressive movement and say it’s actually about equality. The incessantly talk about equality but don’t mean it. They can’t. Because without God, there is no equality. Are all people born with exactly the same level of smarts, beauty, and capabilities? Of course not. But those who believe God loves humanity believe God loves us ALL. But without God, you are just left with inequality. And when people who are for abortion and euthanasia figure out that you’re not as smart or beautiful as them, you better watch out. (See the 20th century.)

This is really nothing new. The ties of Yale and the Ivy League to the eugenics movement and the Nazis is well documented.

Yale’s Alumni Magazine reported:

On a sweltering Friday in June 1921, a 54-year-old Yale economics professor named Irving Fisher delivered a major speech at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. The pain of the recent war in Europe was still fresh, and Fisher was troubled by the quality of those who had died, and the damage to “the potential fatherhood of the race” by the loss of so many young men “medically selected for fighting but thereby prevented from breeding.”

In light of these losses, the issue, it seemed to Fisher, was that graduates of leading universities were failing to do their reproductive duty: the families “of American men of science” averaged just 2.22 children, versus a national average of 4.66. (Or as he put it, perhaps too lucidly, “The average Harvard graduate is the father of three-fourths of a son and the average Vassar graduate the mother of one-half of a daughter.”) This “race suicide” among “the well-to-do classes means that their places will speedily be taken by the unintelligent, uneducated, and inefficient.”

To prevent that, immigration from certain regions needed to be sharply curtailed, and birth control “extended from the white race to the colored” and to other “undesirable” ethnic and economic groups, ideally under the control of a eugenics committee established to “breed out the unfit and breed in the fit.” Otherwise, “the Nordic race . . .  will vanish or lose its dominance.”

Does that sound very different from what this professor was saying. Does it? It’s just different groups now that they look down on. That’s all.

For a time, the American Eugenics Society was housed on Yale’s campus. And, as typically happens, hundreds of campuses followed suit in their own ways, because many colleges wish to be seen as believing the same things as the Ivies so they parrot them. In the 1920’s, over 300 colleges throughout the country offered courses in eugenics.

I know that most progressives would shudder to be linked with eugenics and Nazis. They now call eugenics “junk science” but it’s also a philosophy. I wonder, if one does not believe in God, where in the secular progressive does each human life derive its value?

It really does make one appreciate how revolutionary Christ’s teachings are to this day. Always counter-cultural, it would seem.
