Charlie Gard must die. That’s where we’re at right now. Secularists have placed the sick child in their crosshairs. And now a judge is telling the child’s parents that they have 48 hours to prove that an untested experimental technique works. An impossible feat. And just to prove how political it’s become, the judge took a swipe at President Trump.

The Telegraph:

A High Court judge has given Charlie Gard’s parents less than 48 hours to prove an experimental treatment works, while taking a sideswipe at Donald Trump for interfering in the case.

The baby’s parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, grew more and more distressed and upset during the hearing, interrupting lawyers to accuse Great Ormond Street Hospital, which is treating him, of lying.

In one impassioned plea, Miss Yates, 31, said: “He is our son. Please listen to us.”

This line killed me.

At the end of the hearing Mr Gard walked out and punched the wall in frustration.

Can you imagine being Charlie’s parents and your son’s life has become a political football and those in power are committed to killing him.

So the judge is deliberately misconstruing what’s at question here. He’s set an impossibly high bar of telling the parents they have to become expert medical personnel in the next 48 hours or else their son dies. But the real question is who actually should get to decide? Parents or judges?

Exit question: Why on Earth should the parents have to PROVE that an experimental technique works in order to be allowed to make their decision as the parents.
