Reports indicate that US officials are worried about $180 oil when Russian oil is fully offline. This price shock will cause an economic meltdown. An absolute meltdown. Recession. Perhaps Depression.
All so that we don’t have to drill for oil.

The stories I’ve read on oil prices don’t even talk about how this impacts you. It’s all about how it impacts the White House and the Democrats’ chances in the midterms.
The left claims it cares about Ukraine and its people but is willingly purchasing oil from Russia. So what are its priorities? The left claims it cares about the poor and middle class but the economy is about to tank hard under the weight of skyrocketing oil prices that could be brought down by drilling. But we don’t.
If the people suffer, they suffer. So be it. The left either believes in fighting climate change or the Democrats know they can’t win if they turn their backs on the far left which would revolt if the Democrats allowed drilling.
Perhaps this is what they want in the end. Total economic collapse so they can declare that capitalism no longer works. Cue the takeover.

I personally know a current Dem. local rep. in PA (in office now) who said higher gas prices were his key to environmental betterment; he’s an environmental zealot. I replied that it hurt the poor and working class. He said oh well and shrugged his shoulders. (He also un-friended me on FB for writing that Beijing Biden was as morally bad as Trump and if a Trump character was the candidate for pres., he would vote for him, too. Oh well.) He’s quite the limousine lefty, just like those in your video.

But…if we buy oil from Russia, or Venezuela or drill here at home…aren’t we still consuming the same amount. The source is not the cause of pollution. Domestic or imported oil will release the same amount of CO2. Why? Because in the end, we need the energy and none of these electric cars powered by oil and coal plants are going to change that need for energy.
