Let’s get all the caveats out. This is a draft. Everything could change. However, it’s certainly looking like 50 years of tireless efforts by pro-life advocates is going to result in the overturning of the notorious Roe v. Wade.
The draft was written by Alito. (Not Roberts)
Politico:
The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
Wow. Just wow.
This was quite likely leaked by some pro-abortion lefty looking to gin up outrage. I can’t even imagine what CNN,MSNBC, and mainstream media newsrooms are doing right now.
This is a victory. A great victory. But this is where the battle starts. It just begins when the court’s ruling passes. Every state will finally get to have a say. Finally, the horrific ruling that stifled debate about life in this country can be had.
The pro-life movement has its work cut out. Now let’s get to it.
Say, what will I do with myself every January 22nd instead of Marching with a few hundred thousand others for life.

I will not hold my breath.
This could be a “leaked” Minority opinion.
Especially, if it was authored by Alito and not Roberts.
Not trying to be a downer here. It just demonstrates my level of trust in the Courts.

It is an earned mistrust. It is not written as a dissent but I understand your point. Backdoor dealings may betray us. I pray not.

I suspect it was leaked, or even invented out of whole cloth, to provoke a storm that would nudge the Court back in favor of retaining Roe.

I agree James. I also will not hold my breath. Our trust in institutions have been seriously abused. I’ll go one further. I will not hold my breath about the supposed red wave in the midterm elections. With all the talk we hear about a shellacking of Dems in November and all the predictions we’ve heard about the demise of the liberals I’ll withhold my enthusiasm for the moment. If the draft is indeed indicating the Supreme Courts upcoming decision then I thank God for it. No, it won’t eliminate abortion but residents in each state will now have a say whether or not they want baby killings done in their states and it will finally put the kibosh on the those who say electing pro-life candidates will not make any difference especially in appointing conservative Justices of the Supreme Court.
