It’s come. Now is the time we’ve all been talking about for years. It’s here. Christians around the world are persecuted and those in charge of shining a light on such things and stopping it are uninterested.

We do what we can to highlight stories and we all should. Things are growing worse for Christians worldwide and here in the West as well. Throughout North America hundreds of churches have been vandalized, set ablaze, or desecrated. Pro-life clinics are firebombed and the media shrugs.

In some places it is Christians being mocked. In others, it is being killed. In some it’s being cancelled and in others it’s losing your job because you won’t take an abortion tainted vaccine. In some it’s being questioned about your ability to hold public office while living out your faith.

Christians have been successfully “othered.”

I feel as if so many Christians are cringing as things grow worse. We’re bracing for impact.

But it’s happening. The secular left has placed the Church in its crosshairs. We will be cancelled. We will be mocked. We will eventually face persecution.

Accept it.

According to a recently released poll, nearly half of male Democrats under the age of 50 (44 %) say it’s acceptable to assassinate a politician “who is harming the country or our democracy.” Think about that for a moment. Almost half!

Violence is coming. We no longer have the moral framework to avoid it.

But remember that Jesus was beaten terribly. They crowned Him with thorns to mock Him. He didn’t respond. He didn’t complain. He went on with His appointed mission.

We must take our cue from Jesus.

Get on with our mission. Accept our cross. Start the climb to Calvary. Do it with love and forgiveness. Do it with our eyes, not on the world but on Christ.
