It always struck me as rather horrifying that Roe v. Wade established a “right” to an abortion as our rights are derived from God. That means that God granted humans the right to kill humans He created. It didn’t make a lot of sense to me. But I don’t think the left truly believes that our rights are derived from our Creator.
And to be honest, I don’t think they particularly care whether the unborn are humans or not. Pro-lifers have spent a lot of time attempting to convince others of the humanity of the unborn. That is a great thing but what we must understand is that there are many out there for whom the humanity of the unborn is not a deal breaker. OK, it’s human. So what?
Andrew Klavan, the author and Daily Wire personality, has an interesting take on Dobbs. He essentially says we live in a world where evil will always be committed. That’s the deal. But that’s different than living in a country that says you have a right to do evil. It’s an interesting distinction that I think matters.
Our country is better because of the Dobbs decision.
