You can take any and every evil we’re up against and summarize the chances of its success or failure with one thing — those committed to the darkness have more conviction than those committed to stopping it.

I’ve been saying this for a while but not as succinctly as Steve Deace did here. The forces marshaling against are focused, driven, and committed to destroying the Church and the culture.
Unless you are equally committed, focused, and driven at preserving the Church we will lose. And right now as WB Yeats said in his poem The Second Coming:
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Transforming the Church into a wishy washy feel good worldly institution is not standing up to the darkness, it’s dimming the Church’s light in the hopes that the dimming will appease the darkness.
There is no appeasing darkness. It is insatiable and will settle for nothing less than absolute darkness. At some point you must make a choice. Make the right one.
