The US Senate had Attorney General Merrick Garland in front of them and several Republicans brought up the FBI memo linking traditional Latin Mass goers with white supremacists.

To his credit, he called the memo “appalling but when Senator Josh Hawley pressed the issue further, asking Garland how many informants the FBI has in Catholic churches, the answer was hardly definitive.

I don’t know and I don’t believe we have any informants aimed at Catholic churches,” Garland responded, according to CNA. “We have a rule against investigations based on First Amendment activity and Catholic churches are obviously First Amendment activity. But I don’t know the specific answer to that question.”

That ain’t a no. I know he’s trying to lead you to believe he doesn’t currently have informants in the Catholic Church but that’s not what he’s saying. These folks are very careful about what they say.

Do you really believe that, knowing he’d be asked about exactly this, he didn’t prepare a response? Do you really believe he doesn’t know? I don’t.

Senator Ted Cruz grilled Garland for politicizing the office. He got into a heated exchange when he asked why he hadn’t brought any charges against those who protested the US Supreme Court by showing up at their houses, which is illegal.

Garland had no answer.

When he was later asked why he’s prosecuting so many pro-lifers but can’t seem to find the culprits behind any of the vandalisms, desecrations, and torching of churches and crisis pregnancy centers, Garland said it’s difficult to catch criminals who do their crimes at night.

He said its easy to find pro-lifers because they are at the abortion clinics during the day and the security footage makes them easily identifiable.

So, here’s the news, if you do your crimes at night, the DOJ will not find you. All the billions of dollars at their disposal, all the manpower they have, all the technological advancements they have are stymied if you perform your crime at night.

Good to know.
