Twenty percent of young people in Generation Z identify as LGBTQ. This is an epidemic. This is a disaster. Have you heard one sermon on the subject?
Why are so many priests, bishops, and archbishops completely ignoring this? Cowardice?
And the larger that number becomes, the more cowardice will play a role in their silence. So yes, this may only get worse.
The culture is evangelizing 24/7 but the Church is punting. Believe me, the culture applauds the Church’s silence.

When asked about marriage, Jesus was not silent. He said, “God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
Male. Female. A man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife.
The Church has essentially abdicated its role of speaking out against the culture in the name of Jesus. The culture looms large and spineless clerics seek the shelter of a banal homily in the hopes of being seen as one of the good guys. They do not fear Hell most. No. They fear being seen as one of the uncool Catholics. They live for being patted on the back by the elites who tell them, “you’re not like those other Catholics” or “if only all Catholics were as pastoral and loving as you.”
Millions of confused souls may perish but these spineless prelates will receive their affirmation from the culture. And like fattened house cats they’ll curl themselves around the feet of their master and purr.

I do not think Church leadership should get a free pass on this. They are the shepherds of the flock. But also consider how many parents bring their kids to mass. Our FF programs have few students, unprepared catechists (not a criticism, simply meaning that its based on who will volunteer, which are always parents of a child at that level). There are a lot of issues that need strong and deliberate leadership and a mindset of the sheep that the church is not one perspective among many.

It gets worse looked at one way. Very few males identify as LGBTQ who aren’t reasonably “sincere” in that because identifying as such removes you from consideration by women.
So of this 20% number I theorize that it’s mostly made up of women. So we could be looking at something like a third or more of Gen Z women now identifying as alphabet.

In answer to your question, so far not a peep in any of the Catholic Churches I attend.

Firstly, well done for the last paragraph, it’s a very apt summation.
I haven’t heard any preach against it. They are afraid or complicit.
I was thinking about “intrinsically disordered” and how the culture at large doesn’t know that the Catholic Church teaches that. I think if they did then there would be a concerted effort to have the church officially recognised as a hate organisation. Obviously at some point when the culture of death is strong enough it will move to make the Catholic Church illegal and their case will hinge on sexual morality.

We had a young priest over for dinner one night, and during one conversation, I asked if he intended to preach against abortion or contraception. He looked horrified! He said that his teachers in the Seminary had warned him against ever preaching in these subjects for AT LEAST his first ten years as a priest!
Am I comforted? No!
