Oy.

Stupidity gives me a headache. And this story is a migraine waiting to happen.

Young people are stupid. Every parent knows this. They come out stupid. They stay stupid for quite some time and then they go out into the world not as stupid but pretty stupid and with poor music taste.

So, the hope here is that the reality will slap some sense into them because we were clearly too nice to do so. We hope that the slap causes no permanent damage but is jarring enough to have them questioning their “ideas.”

Daily Caller: A substantial portion of millennials aged 25-34 agree that misgendering should be a crime, according to polling conducted exclusively for Newsweek that was published on Saturday.

The survey found 44% of individuals aged 25-34 believe “referring to someone by the wrong gender pronoun (he/him, she/her) should be a criminal offense,” while 31% of them disagree, according to Newsweek. The remaining 25% “neither agree nor disagree” or “don’t know,” the poll surveying 1,500 eligible U.S. voters and conducted by Redfield and Wilson Strategies on July 6 found.

The percentage was somewhat lower for people aged 35-44 as 38% stated they hold the belief that misgendering should be a crime, while 35% disagree, according to Newsweek. Among all Americans, 19% think misgendering should be a crime, and 65% disagree.

Me again: This idea that each generation is improving is an awful idea. It’s sort of a Rousseau idea that the child comes out uncorrupted and that society corrupts them. So then we must look to the most naive and childlike for answers and ignore the wisdom of the elderly because they are corrupted by society. This is real. This isn’t philosophy class discussion. The whole “don’t trust anyone over 30” has its roots in Rousseau.

This, along with the belief in evolution has young people thinking that they are an improvement on the past generation. A 2.0. This is absurd and dangerous because every new idea is good simply because they thought it. That’s how you get this kind of stupidity where “misgendering” should be a crime. They think they’re being open-minded while they’re falling into the maw of Nazi-ism.

Hope that slap from reality doesn’t feel good, folks.
