A journalist and a college professor walk into MSNBC and…
what takes place next is exactly what you’d expect.
Unbelievable! Two MSNBC guests claim that white rural voters are a threat to American democracy. Their message:

We're not replacing you.
We're not trying to imprison our political rivals.
We're not using the federal government for Democrat get out the vote operations.
We're not… pic.twitter.com/VDp0nEhmx1
So you’re saying is you don’t like them. These are the people who want to rule over you. They hate you.
I’ve got an idea. They should refuse to eat any of the food grown by white rural types. Y’know, to protest. Let’s see how long that goes.

Everything I do seems to be a threat to something or someone…this is what speaking truth to power REALLY looks like.

These people need to made to realize that what they think, what they spew out with all this mind vomit really really doesn’t matter to me. They are insignificant in a world of ideas. They are insecure when they think that little ol’ me sitting in the middle of New Hampshire is a threat to this country. They are cut from the same cloth as Saint Greta. They are children and they are convinced they know more than the adults and that we should listen to them. Excuse me while I vomit.

This immediately made me think of Hillary Clinton’s ill-considered words and actions near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign against Donald Trump.
She made it known that she would not bother to visit the Rust Belt states (Ohio, Michigan, etc.) because she assumed she had them sown up and it would be a waste of her valuable time. Since those of us who do not live on either coast or near Chicago are in “flyover country” we do not matter.
And then she described those who were voting for Trump – and those who were still on the fence – as “deplorables”.
The election results told the story of the result of her condescension.
*Every* vote matters in America – not just those in NY City, LA, Chicago, Boston, or any other large city. And voters need to be treated with respect as any American deserves.
