If this offends you:

But Joe Biden’s deplorable abortion record doesn’t, then your priorities might be a little messed up.

Or if this didn’t offend you:

Then you might just be suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Trump’s meme was joke. Biden’s standing with Planned Parenthood had a body count. #priorities

I doubt there is anyone who reads your posts who was not offended by Biden’s support for abortion. But then, did Biden officiating a same-sex “marriage” offend you? Death is a natural evil, whereas sin is a moral evil. Are you offended by moral evil if it does not result in natural evil?
But then, until Trump had the Republican platform rewritten for his 2024 run, the GOP was officially. Not now; he saw to that. Ditto with being officially pro-family, in the sense of opposing the kind of “marriage” that Biden officiated. Trump doesn’t have a problem with those, see. Neither does “Catholic” Vance; to “30 pieces of silver” and “Wales” we can now add “Number One Observatory Circle” as the price for a soul. Trump really has unified the country, but only in the embrace of evil.
But back to the event you want to excuse. Is that what your parents taught you? That “It’s a joke!” absolves you from all responsibility? Or that, “But Joe did worse, and he didn’t get in trouble for it!” would get you off the hook?
I thought you were raised better than that.

“… the GOP was officially pro-life. Not now; he saw to that.”

My parents raised me to believe that no politician is a god.
I remember how the Kennedys were deified by the American Catholic Church when I was growing up. Later we learned that they were all as tarnished as the next person.
My parents were of Irish ancestry. It helps to understand Irish humor. It can be dark and irreverent. I get it. That is why this pic of Trump made me laugh out loud.
By the way, how am I (or you for that matter) “responsible” for all of the ills that afflict the world? Seems like you think that we should carry them 24/7. That makes this life as not a gift from God, but a drudge and burden.
Jesus said , “I have come to bring you life that you may have it more abundantly”.
He didn’t say a thing about how great it is to be a nannyscold. Lighten up.

This is the Easter season. Now would be a good time to get rid of that chip on your shoulder you’ve been carrying with most of your replies.

How would you have reacted if Obama had done this?
May 7, 2025 at 10:05 am
It would’ve been out of character for Obama. It would’ve felt weird.
May 7, 2025 at 5:36 pm
I agree that Obama would never have done this. Obama is a gentleman and has more class in his toenails than Trump has exhibited in his entire life. Trump is a boor.
What you have said here is more illuminating. You excuse behavior from your guy that you would condemn from anyone else. Your have no standards beyond ‘Team Red Is Good Regardless.’

Obama was a whited sepulcher, all clean and polished on the outside but inside full of deadmen’s bones and all corruption.

This subject came up as my husband and I drove a fellow parishioner, who is legally blind, to Mass. She is an educated woman who is a Biden/Pelosi/Harris/Kennedy Democrat and is a Black American. We are white – and, unbeknownst to her to that point, Republicans. I know – oh, the horror.
She made an offhand comment about the “Pope Trump” photo, saying it is no wonder the international community hates Americans, and it is amazing Pope Leo was ever elected.
Until this day, we always ignored or changed the subject when politics came up, not wanting to be upset or to upset anyone before Mass.
Taking a leaf from your book, Mr. A, I opened my big mouth and said that I found it was far more disgraceful and appalling that some Catholic politicians blatantly ignore Catholic teaching and betray it by promoting issues that are in direct defiance with Catholic teaching – abortion, LGBTQ and transgender accommodations and “marriage”, and FBI surveillance of Catholic Masses in search of treasonous activity.
My husband immediately backed me up. She was gobsmacked and speechless.
Hopefully partisan politics will not come up as we drive to and from Mass in future! Thanks, Mr. A!
