I love this. This kid BRINGS IT! Frank Turek regretted allowing this kid to ask him questions.

Chase was right in his statements about the Church authority. It wasn’t to Luther Christ said, go and teach the whole world. It wasn’t to Luther Christ said to forgive men’s sins or to retain them. It wasn’t to Luther Christ said what you allow here on earth will be also be allow in heaven and what you forbid here on earth will also be forbidden in heaven. It wasn’t to Luther that Christ said, he who listens to you listens to me, and he who rejects you rejects me and the father who sent me.
This is where Luther went wrong. He rejected the very Church Christ founded. By his OWN authority derived from pride Luther took books out of the Canon of the Old Testament. He went so far as to enter the word ‘Alone’ in ‘faith alone’ in his OWN translation of scripture when he first had his bible printed in absolute contradiction to James where he says, ‘faith without works is dead’, and ‘ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.’
Luther rejected the authority of God when he rejected the Lords Church. Bad people in the authority of the Church? Really? Like the very men He chose, they betrayed Christ, ran away when He was arrested, had His own hand picked man deny knowing Christ right to his Lord’s face three times. If Christ didn’t reject His own Church after all that sinfulness of the apostles that he chose personally, then neither do any of us have the right to reject the Church today for the behavior of some of her members.
Christ and the Scribes and Pharisees did not see eye to eye. He called them white washed sepulchres, hypocrites, liars for their father was the Father of Lies. He lambasted them for making it difficult for the faithful to enter heaven while themselves are refused heaven. If this was the case, why didn’t Christ totally dismantles the Jewish authority and tell the people to leave the faith? Because of the Father and the authority that came from the Father to the priests of the day. Jesus went further. He told the people that the Scribes and Pharasees sit on the seat of judgement, the seat of Moses. They are the teachers of the Law. Obey them and do what they tell you but do not do as they do.
I suspect Christ, if he walked the earth today would say pointing to the Vatican, “They! They sit on the seat of Peter. They are the teachers of faith and morals and doctrine. Listen to them and obey them but do not do as they do.
Protestants can scream until they are blue in the face but Luther had no God given authorithy to reject the Church and her teachings and lead millions away from their salvation.
