To me, it’s perfect.
Of course it’s on Mother’s Day that the left chooses to attack the Catholic Church.
The one thing I’ll say about the left is they know their enemy. They know that the only institution that can stand strong against them is the Catholic Church. I just wish the Church were defended by those who love her equally to the attacks by those who hate her.
As Yeats wrote:
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
We see this today.
This IS the issue that the left must fight over. Because once you accept that life is sacred, all else follows. This is the battleground they must battle on. It is the Woman who said “Yes” to the Holy Spirit that they must resist because they must say “no.”
They must drown out the one world changing “yes” with a chorus of slogans, a battering of fists, and the threat of oppression. It is their way.
To refuse the teaching of the Catholic Church is to embrace Pilate’s question “What is truth?” They ask this when they pretend not to know what a woman is, or that the child in the womb is a child. They pretend they are staring into an abyss of unknowables and they shrug and somehow that is supposed to be empowering.
It had to be Mother’s Day because they’re the ones who don’t know what a woman is or what a child is. It had to be Mother’s Day.
