I’m not sure she even knows what she’s saying, to be honest. But what she says is that President Biden will not be attending the funeral, per request of the Vatican.
We have a president who doesn’t know what he’s saying and a press secretary who doesn’t know the word “emeritus.” (Yes. Watch her struggle with that word, which really shows how elite our elites actually are.)

If this is true that the Vatican asked Biden not to attend, we’d be left to wonder if that were an actual request from Pope Benedict XVI before his death or is that the Vatican? I don’t think the Vatican would put itself at odds with Biden but who knows?
Biden himself is asked about this and essentially says that his entourage was too large and he’d just get in the way. (Um…when isn’t he just in the way?)

Actually, think about this for a moment. Karine Jean Pierre is so bad at her job as press secretary that reporters are forced to ask Joe Biden for clarifications. We’re just lucky that Biden didn’t say he’s sending “Cornpop” as his representative.
The Vatican has reportedly said this was to be a “simple, somber” event. The truth is that if Biden did show up many other world leaders would show up and it would become a different sort of event. I’m betting that Pope Benedict XVI requested a solemn funeral without a great deal of fanfare, which would fit with everything we know about him.
According to Hot Air, “Poland’s President Andrzej Duda, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, and Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar are among those who have already confirmed their attendance at Benedict XVI’s funeral in an unofficial capacity.
European royals Queen Sofia of Spain and King Philip and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are also planning to attend.”
This is a Mass. A funeral Mass. I personally couldn’t care less if Biden attends or not. For me, we should all be joined in prayer for the soul of Pope Benedict XVI. That is the purpose. I’m glad we don’t have the hypocrisy of politicians gathering in order to be seen, rather than gathering to pray.
