Good news: China officially announced the end of its one-child limit. Bad news: It’s now a two-child limit.
For one thing, it’s not going to be enough to avert a demographic and economic disaster but it still treats humans simply as a cog in the machinery of the state.
They’re still making the same horrific and tragic mistake. They’re seeing humanity as an economic factor that can be manipulated and/or discarded for what they consider the greater good. Here’s the thing, humans don’t exist for the economy.
MSN reports:
China announced the end of its hugely controversial one-child policy on Thursday, with the official Xinhua news agency saying that all couples would be allowed two children.
It cited a communique issued by the ruling Communist Party after a four-day meeting in Beijing to chart the course of the world’s second-largest economy over the next five years.
China is “abandoning its decades-long one-child policy”, Xinhua reported.
The policy restricted most couples to only a single offspring, and for years authorities argued that it was a key contributor to China’s economic boom.
But after years of strict, sometimes brutal enforcement by a dedicated government commission, China’s population — the world’s largest — is now ageing rapidly, gender imbalances are severe, and its workforce is shrinking.
China’s brutal policy of forced abortions will likely continue just after two children instead of one. Life and death decisions are still in the hands of the state.
China has invited its own economic doom upon itself with its forced abortions and sterilizations. Instead of seeing the errors of their ways, they’re instead staying in the fertility business.
