Atheist nutjob said yesterday that babies diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome should be aborted in the womb and that, in fact, it would be “immoral to bring it into the world.”
It. Did you get the “it” part?
The firestorm initiated on Twitter where 93 percent of idiocy starts nowadays. Referencing an anti-Catholic article that was featured on CMR recently, Dawkins wrote “Ireland is a civilised country except in this one area. You’d think the Roman Church would have lost all influence.”
Breitbart reported that an Irish Catholic Aidan McCourt tweeted in return, “994 human beings with Down’s syndrome deliberately killed before birth in England and Wales in 2012. Is that civilised?”
Dawkins responded.
.@AidanMcCourt Yes, it is very civilised. These are fetuses, diagnosed before they have human feelings.

He later advised someone else who said they wouldn’t know what to do if their unborn child was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome by saying “Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice.”
It.
It’s always interesting to me what prompts a firestorm and a reaction. Dawkins obviously got some pushback on this because he told a woman what to do with her body, not because he advocated the death of a human being. So he tweeted this response:
Woman said she wouldn't know whether to abort. I told her what I would do & why. I OBVIOUSLY wouldn't TELL a woman what to do. Up to her.

It’s weird what’s sacrosanct to some.
