I just got this in my email. All we keep hearing about is how the government shutting down at midnight would be the worst calamity to Western civilization since the invasion of the Huns. (I actually don’t know if the invasion of the Huns was a good or bad thing. It sounds bad though.)

But I get a kick out of the fact that the president is so openly exploiting this supposed looming event which will surely doom us all. Oh wait, these are the “don’t let a good crisis go to waste” folks.

When I make decisions, I think about people like you, Matt. I need partners in the Senate and House who share that focus. And tonight’s fundraising deadline is crucial.
