I'm sure he means well, but this sounds like the type of things Senators say for popular approval rather than anything that relates to legislating and representing Texans in the government.
Odd too, since the most religious countries in the world – Ghana, Nigeria, Armenia, Iraq, Macedonia – are not at all the kinds of countries that any senator would say we should emulate.

Sorry, blanchirlamarine, but you're committing the equivocation fallacy. Actually worse than that. You're not even pretending that "spiritual revival" is being used in a sense different from the one intended; you're pretending that "any increase in any religious practice whatsoever" is the same thing as "spiritual revival".
If you're going to say something that stupid, at least be interesting, and accuse Cruz of wanting to endow Aztec or Thug human sacrifice.
