It’s being reported that a professor at the University of Texas has sparked a terrible controversy by saying that black students are failing academically because so many are raised in single parent households.
In an interview with the BBC, law professor Lino Graglia said “I can hardly imagine a less beneficial or more deleterious experience than to be raised by a single parent,” Graglia said. “Usually a female, uneducated and without a lot of money.”
He pointed out that, on average, prospective black college students score 200 points lower than their white counterparts in SAT tests. According to the 82-year-old almost three-quarters of black children are born outside of marriage, which hinders their success.
Now, it’s being reported as he’s attacking single mothers. And all I can think is that he’s not really attacking single mothers at all. Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say he’s criticizing deadbeat dads for leaving their kids?
The moms are the ones left holding the bag. He wasn’t blaming them. He was simply saying that kids born to single parents have a harder time in life. In what world is that controversial. I’m serious. Do we really think that the complete breakdown of family has absolutely no effect on anything?
You see, some would rather ignore the reasons why so many fail and say they’re sensitive than to say out loud the reason so many fail.

He's blaming single motherhood, not those who, for whatever reason, participate in it. But we have a thing now where you define yourself by things like that, so any discussion of acts is automatically conflated with an attack on the people who do them—and how dare you attack them like that?
It's the reverse of "love the sinner, hate the sin", and the only question is why it took till the mid-20th century for people to realize how useful it was for destroying rational discourse.

Single motherhood is child abuse and a form of black mail. "Give me this check or the kid won't' have shoes or a coat. Give a toy or the kid won't get anything this Christmas because I'm a poor single mother"… If you look at the kids who are abused and murdered a stunningly high number are victimized by their single mother's new boyfriend.

" If you look at the kids who are abused and murdered a stunningly high number are victimized by their single mother's new boyfriend." This bears repeating. Include also divorced and remarried or even widowed and remarried. The inability or refusal of the
newcomer to care for the first husband's children because they are dependent human beings and belong to God first, is criminal. The second husband to several widows I have personally known threw the first husband's children out of the home, literally into the street, making them unwanted and homeless. I do not have enough breath to name them all. Shame and disgrace. Read Susan B. Anthony's speeches about the responsibility of the man.For this she was hated, beaten, jailed, and starved. I like her.

And for pointing out that children of single parents have needs that aren't being met… such an admission is to show the sexually permissive society for what it is. Children lose when adult sexual needs become the overarching value of a society.
