Is the truce over?
According to The Politico, a bill defunding Planned Parenthood may be landing on Indiana Governor Mitch “The Truce” Daniels’ desk in the next two weeks.
Sources in Indiana tell PULSE the governor will most likely be forced to swerve away from his long-touted “truce” on social issues when a bill to defund Planned Parenthood and set up new abortion restrictions lands on his desk within the next two weeks. The Indiana State Senate passed the bill this week and groups on both sides of the issue expect the governor to sign off on it. “Both fiscal and social conservatives are united behind the call to defund Planned Parenthood of our tax dollars,” SBA List’s Marjorie Dannenfelser tells PULSE. “We expect that Mitch Daniels has heard the message loud and clear that the only acceptable truce should be on truces themselves.”
This is a pretty big deal in that Daniels ticked off social conservatives pretty badly in talking about a “truce” on social issues. So his action here will decide the viability of his candidacy. Make no mistake, even if he does defund Planned Parenthood his indications that there are more important issues other than life bug me. They bug the heck out of me. But let’s face it, you’ve gotta’ have a soft spot in your heart for a governor that defunds Planned Parenthood.
I hope and pray that Governor Daniels will do the right thing here and defund Planned Parenthood in Indiana.

This IS an example of a Mitch Daniels truth on social issues— he didn't lobby for this legislation in any way, but if they pass it, he'll sign it.
Basically, he sees these things as legislative issues, not executive ones.
BUT while this works brilliantly in Indiana (a socially conservative state, for the most part), I can't see it working on a national level…

Daniels has a good record on pro-life issues, as I understand it. But I am very troubled by his stated intention not to advance the flag as a presidential candidate — or a president.

Of all Planned Parenthood's services, 3% are abortions. THOUSANDS of women use their services for cancer screenings, birth control (which is used for acne, healthy hormone levels, mood, and much more), STI's, and others for little to no cost. They also teach safe sex and abstinence to youth. If you defund Planned Parenthood, you're sitting on your high horse, looking down at all those who need your help. You will see the agony and pain women will need to go through, all because they don't have the means to get the services they deserve.

More reasons to defund……..
There is no mammography offered at planned parenthood. It's done by the TSA method only.
Guttmacher institute, the research arm of planned parenthood reported a doubling of the use of the morning after pill now that it has gone over the counter, but said there is still room for improvement.
How is it improvement to rely more heavily on a very ineffective mode of birth control, (which leads to the sale of more abortions)? Something on the order of 98 percent of pregnant women "served"" by planned parenthood wind up getting an abortion.
