Many abortionists who claim to just want to help women are now injecting either a potentially poisonous salt also used in death row executions in order to ensure the baby’s death in the womb to avoid legal problems since the Supreme Court decision upholding the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. But some doctors are saying the injection poses a risk to women, says the Boston Globe.

The injection poses a risk to the woman and offers her no medical benefit, said one abortionist who opted not to use the injection. “We do not believe that our patients should take a risk for which the only clear benefit is a legal one to the physician,” Dr. Philip D. Darney, chief of obstetrics at San Francisco General Hospital.

But the billion dollar abortion industry which cares so much about women is choosing the CYA approach to medicine with the injections becoming the new standard operating procedure for abortions beginning at around 20 weeks’ gestation, said Dr. Michael F. Greene, director of obstetrics at Mass. General.

In what I have to believe is the sickest line of the week, the Globe points out, that some abortion providers “decided that whether to have an injection should be up to the patient; some are comforted by the idea that the fetus has died before it is removed.”

But we are still to believe that these wonderful doctors are simply concerned with doing what’s right for women because they love and appreciate women more than us awful pro-lifers. Oh wait except for this one quoted in the Globe.

But Dr. Mark Nichols, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University, said he deeply respects those who believe the injection might be dangerous to women, “but at the same time I guess I’m a little bit more concerned about the risk for the faculty and staff here.”

Nice.
