IRONDALE, Ala. — Eternal Word Television Network filed a lawsuit today in U.S. District Court in Birmingham, Ala., seeking to halt the federal government’s imposition of its contraception mandate and to have the court declare the federal rule unconstitutional.
The lawsuit names Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and other federal agencies, as defendants.
The network released a statement today regarding the action.
The network is the first lay Catholic organization to challenge the constitutionality of the HHS final rule, approved by the Obama administration on Jan. 20.

Anytime you can drop the "it's on like donkey kong" line, it's a good thing.
But in this case, God bless them.
Are there any legal organizations to which we can donate to support the fight?

Please please please support your local EWTN affiliates and EWTN as well. If this goes badly, a lot of good people could get in a lot of trouble.

Every Bishop and noble of jolly old England supported the position of Henry VIII – except two saints. This is the beginning of the same thing in a different era.
There is no compromise on the freedom of religion, just like there is no compromise on adultery.
Resist at every turn and at every opportunity. On ball fields, in living rooms, at the water cooler at work and in federal court – resist.
Confront the tyrant.

The first post above asks if there are any legal organizations to which we can donate to support the fight. Yes – The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty is representing EWTN, Belmont Abbey College, and a Christian college in Texas in their suits against the government on this. Go to the Becket Fund's site to read more about it and to donate – I just did, and strongly encourage others to do the same.

Thanks, Anonymous. I've just gone to The Beckett Fund and donated. I understand Ave Maria in Florida will not let this stand either. If Obama prevails we must keep in mind the gravity of the situation as stated by I believe Cardinal George of Chicago, who said, "I expect to die in my bed, but my successor may die in jail, and his successor may be a martyr for the Faith.
