Wow. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant tells it like it is. In a radio interview Gov. Bryant layed it all out there saying “the true hypocrisy is that their [Democrats] one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb.” Do I hear an amen?
[ABC OTUS] Days after he signed a law that would effectively shut down his state’s only remaining abortion-performing clinic, Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant accused Democrats of having one mission in life: “to abort children.”
“The hypocrisy of the left that now tried to kill this bill, that says that I should have never signed it, the true hypocrisy is that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb,” Bryant told conservative radio host Tony Perkins on Tuesday.
Bryant touted the bill, which increases the requirements for doctors to legally perform abortions, as the “the first step” in ending abortions in Mississippi, a goal the governor campaigned on.
“We passed that bill and I think you’ll see other states follow,” Bryant said Tuesday in a video of the radio show segment posted by Right Wing Watch. “And when that happens, at least these fly-in abortionists are going to be regulated under the state laws of the Medical Procedures Act here in the state of Mississippi, as they should be across the nation.”

If one were pro-choice, wouldn't one want a qualified doctor? Wouldn't that be a good thing? Pro-aborts oppose any legislation that puts any onus on those aborting children, even if it would be "good" for the women, like regulating clinics as if they were medical clinics. So, legal is enough, safe and rare, even rhetorically, have fallen by the wayside.

I think it's great what he's done in his state with the passage of this law. But I just winced when I read those words:
"the true hypocrisy is that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb".
Come on. That kind of statement just completely shuts down any kind of possibility of changing minds and hearts. I am completely pro-life, from conception to natural death, the whole thing. I am a faithful Roman Catholic. But I really take exception to some of the terminology used, unfortunately especially amongst my fellow pro-lifers.
I used to work at a great and very effective crisis pregnancy center in Chicago and found the same extreme words to describe the "enemy". Particularly offensive (and ridiculous, in my mind) is calling all THOSE people (who believe in the right to abortion) "PRO-DEATH". Oh my goodness.
Whether you're calling people "pro-death" or saying that the mission of Democrats is to kill children in the womb, all you're doing is losing credibility. Do these people actually believe that all Democratic pro-choice people consciously and intentionally want to KILL CHILDREN? I mean, really, think about what you're saying, for goodness sakes.
I'm afraid this kind of rhetoric and inflamed verbiage does absolutely nothing but make pro-lifers look and sound like a bunch of lunatics. I have to struggle to not be embarassed as a fellow pro-life woman.

The lunatics are the Democratic Party, which has become the party of death. Please note the fact that the president was willing to shut down the enitire government over it. Now that's
lunacy.

Elizabeth, you may be "embarrassed," but I am not. Your post shows an incredible amount of naiveté about who your enemies are. Children, to them, are a drain on social services. Unborn children have less status than pets. They care about trees, egrets, and endangered fish more than unborn children.
When the God-honest truth is "inflamed verbiage," I know that the rhetoric of the left has sunken deep into the psyches of the American people. You call on your fellow pro-lifers to mind their manners when what they are up against is a pack of demons who regularly chop infants to bits? I think you might want to be liked by your enemy more than you want to win.
Do you know what that's a recipe for? Losing. And losing means that babies die.
April 26, 2012 at 5:44 pm
@ Elizabeth: you're right. And the Nazis weren't in favor of genocide, just "racial hygiene".
If someone is in favor of a legal right to murder children, and he doesn't expect a little harsh phraseology, then he probably has a bigger problem—and remember that his smaller problem is being in favor of a right to commit infanticide.

Elizabeth, how would you characterize an unbroken 11 year record of voting for abortion measures, including voting to retain late-term abortions? You don't want to call it "pro-death" so what would you call it?
April 26, 2012 at 10:06 pm
I think Romney could get a lot of votes by choosing Phil Bryant as his running mate. He'd get mine for sure!

The anti woman republican party just keeps going further and further. Elizabeth, sane, measured words here don't really resonate on this site. Safe abortion isn't acceptable for this crowd. They want to punish the "S_ut" that spread her legs. The guy, well he's just being a man.
No suprise this is Mississippi but this thinking is rampant in the tea party crowd.

Rover, you make an excellent argument for abortion.
Notice I didn't say you wrote an excellent argument for it.
April 26, 2012 at 11:17 pm
Dear Rover,
Perhaps you mistook my words for support in some way for "safe abortion"? You're completely mistaken. I guess you didn't get what I was saying at all.
I AM completely against abortion at ANY stage, and it being legal in ANY way, in ANY situation. I AM a member of the Republican party (as you call it, the anti-woman republican party). Your comments are vile and over the top to the point of my thinking it's a joke. Why in the world are you reading this site?

The thoroughly rotten U.S. Democrat party are simply kinder, gentler Nazis; those who doubt it, read some history and face the facts. They must be routed at every opportunity.

Every now and then someone has to speak the bald truth. I have no patience for obfuscating sensitivities.

Elizabeth:
I believe you are good-hearted, but you refuse to see how serious abortion actually is, because you've gotten used to it. When someone doesn't want to talk about it in "clean" terms, your comfort is upset and you react to it. I don't use pro-death myself, but I know it's true, and I would never object to anyone using it. It's not just allowed to KILL UNBORN CHILDREN in our civlisation, but it's become AN INDUSTRY. Every time I start to feel my intellect cool down to the idea of abortion, which I believe you've allowed yours to do (which happens all of the time by how normal it is, which just adds to the insanity), I rouse it by trying to grasp the fact of abortion.
In our civilisation it is perfectly allowed, even considered a right, to kill unborn children, and they've even made an industry out of it. We kill unborn children. On an industral scale. Just let it marinate. There is no over-reaction or too harsh language to describe the horror of abortion.
April 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm
I think both have a point, while I think the head of Planned Parenthood, and many democratic legislators are certainly Pro-Death, and that their mission IS to kill children, I also think my neighbor down the street who is "Pro-choice" has no idea what abortion really entails. So what Elizabeth is saying is that statements like the one Gov. Bryant made, may be true of the abortion leaders, it is not an effective way of changing Pro-choice "Joe", the neighbor's heart, when he hears that. It just shuts down Joe's willingness to listen. But in the end, I think that Gov. Bryant is correct & sometimes the Truth does hurt. Hopefully through prayer and education we can change people's hearts.

It can never be said often enough: Do not adopt the intentionally vague and misleading and innocuous-sounding and FALSE language of those who support and maintain the massive, genocide-scale brutal and violent killing of our most innocent and defenceless, our brothers and sisters still in their mothers' wombs. That Governor spoke the truth, refused to use the pro-abortionists' narcosis-inducing, conscience-deadening abuse of language. We should wince when the Governor spells out what is happening – the obstinate pushing of baby-killing on an ever-wider scale in a frenzied promotion of death by any means possible. There is something wrong if we do not wince at the killing of little girls or boys in their mothers' wombs. We should wince in horror – and then act and pray to fight this heinous massacre.
April 27, 2012 at 1:51 pm
Elizabeth,
My comments are vile? Read the article.
I understand exactly your view on abortion. You will let the woman die before you will take the baby. Got it.
Why am I here? To know my (political) enemy.
Rover.
April 27, 2012 at 10:50 pm
Rover, God gives life and God takes life away. blesse3d be God. without God abortions take life away. Abortionists cannot, nor can the government give life. Man cannot give life without God willingly creating an immortal, rational soul endowed with unalienable rights and sovereign personhood to guide his destiny into eternal life. When the woman asked the Supreme Court to kill her child, her child became a ward of the court. The court said kill him. Infanticide and abortion have been around as long as man has been around but this is the first time in the history of man that infanticide and abortion have become the law of the land and legalized in a civilization. God makes the rain and the seed grow. God makes human life.

Elizabeth, Rover here demonstrates why your objection to the comments might be a bit misplaced. Thoughtless people like Rover will never be persuaded by logic, and it shows that there is such an extreme, vile element on the left that truly despises children.
