Greg Burke cannot do any worse. Maybe it is time they had a professional in the job.
The Vatican has brought in the Fox News correspondent in Rome to help improve its communications strategy as it tries to cope with one of its most serious scandals in decades, The Associated Press learned Saturday.
Greg Burke will become a senior communications adviser in the Vatican’s secretariat of state, people familiar with the matter told AP.
The Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, confirmed the move, saying Burke’s job will be to help integrate the handling of communications matters within the Vatican’s top administrative office, the secretariat of state, and will help handle its relations with the Holy See press office and other Vatican communications offices.

Whoever wrote that AP story you linked needs a communications director. The story cites all of these horrible blunders, most of which aren't all that bad. Then he talks about the 2010 sex scandals–2010?
The whole story just reeked of another opportunity to exaggerate Vatican incompetence and/or duplicitousness.
