New Ways Ministries, a rogue “Catholic” group that pushes the homosexual agenda, has a piece up on their site that’s not worth reading at all. But one thing jumped out at me. I’ve noticed a few times on what’s called progressive Catholic websites they often use this pic. I’m pretty sure they use it because they think it makes Cardinal Dolan look silly.
But I must admit, every time I see this picture I can’t help but smile. While I’m pretty sure they don’t intend it to be this way, I think it sends the exactly perfect message that the Catholic Church needs to send.

I love that picture. It says so much about joy in the face of adversity. Clearly we've got another source of hope than the princes of this world.

My bishop was in Rome when Cardinal Dolan was made cardinal (we got one too!)- a priest was video-taping our new cardinal being congratulated after all the ceremonies and Cardinal Dolan was in many shots- and he was smiling just like this. He's a lovely person- but his Irish face gets red (just like mine)
