President Obama was campaigning in Colorado and said you have to re-elect him or else the Republicans could tip the scale on the Supreme Court.

“Today is the three year anniversary of Sonia Sotomayor taking her seat on the Supreme Court,” Obama said at the Auraria Event Center in Denver. “Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of Elena Kagan taking her seat on the Supreme Court. So, let’s be very clear, the next president could tip the balance of the court in a way that turns back the clock for women and families for decades to come.”

Ha! Fat chance. Time and again we pick so called “conservatives” for the court who turn on us and become liberals when we need them most. Chief Justice Roberts, call your office.

I’ve always said that 2008 was nuts in that so many folks were voting for McCain for president simply because they hoped to get better judges out of him than they’d get under Obama.

It’s kind of a sick thought. We’re voting for what’s regarded as the most powerful man in the free world in order for him to nominate the people with the real power. Kinda’ scary actually.

The thing is that McCain’s judges would probably be a bit better than Sotomayor or Kagan. But only a bit.

So in short, I’ll just say that if Obama’s worried about the justices, don’t. We’ll win and then we’ll nominate judges that you’d be OK with. So Obama, if that’s the only reason you’re running, you can step down. We’ll doom the country by judicial fiat all by ourselves.
