Typically, when people see babies they smile. But no baby has brought more division and anger to the world than the Baby Jesus.
The baby Jesus started out with a contract on His head and to this day 2,000 years later, people are still trying to make Him disappear.
CBS reports:
The city of Santa Monica has allowed an elaborate nativity scene in its Palisades Park each Christmas for nearly 60 years, but officials are ending the tradition this year after an atheist set up his own non-religious display and caused an uproar.
Now, the churches behind the nativity are suing in federal court and claim the city violated their freedom of speech by stopping the holiday tradition.
A court hearing Monday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles could decide the fate of the Christian tableau for the upcoming season.
The churches want a judge to block the city’s ban on private and unattended displays in the park until the case is resolved. The city is asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit entirely.
You have an issue here where many atheists absolutely hate Christianity and you have a government run by politicians who are mostly scared to death of lawsuits from atheists and let’s face it, kinda’ creeped out by Christians.
The disappearance of religion in the public sphere will continue. But we can do our own part by being the public faces of Christianity. We should make sure that people passing our home know that a Christian lives there, not just someone who celebrates Christmas. There’s a difference.

Christians are morons. Most of Christmas is stolen from Pagans, anyway. HEATHEN.

@ Anonymous: name one thing about Christmas that's really stolen from pagans. Name the pagans, name the custom. I'm waiting.
We both know you can't; what you know about any pagan culture's customs probably wouldn't fill one 3×5 index card.

I'm just waiting for the big atheist display. Then I can ask for equal time and space for my Christian display. Free Speech you know.

Sophia, Anonymous is an jerk. You can tell because 1) he hides behind the name anonymous, 2) he is intolerant of others' viewpoints (why read CMR if you don't believe in God?), and 3) he's trying to get a rise out of us. I'll pray for him to know God's love at some point and to be less jerk-like in the meantime. It will probably raise his ire that I am praying for him…ha ha!

How terrible we are to the athiests. They tremble and scurry about trying to escape. The horror and dread that chokes them at the mere sight of a figurine betrays the depth of their fear. The call of Love is excrutiating to their ears. The light scalds their eyes. "Oh lord Caesar" they cry, "great servant of the prince of the world, sheild us from truth! We offer or vulgarity in tribute. Just cloak us with your darkness and remove those things which awaken our conscience and burns our souls.".
Baby Jesus have mercy on them.
