Kate Upton got a cross tattooed on her finger. Good for her, I guess. I’m not a big fan of tats but she ain’t me so whatever.
The story she tells about why she got the cross tattoo is kinda’ interesting though:
The stunning supermodel got a tattoo of a cross on her finger so she could always show her devotion to God, she explained in the September issue of Elle.
“I was at a photo shoot and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like, ‘Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious.’ And then they took [my necklace] away,” Upton told the magazine. “I was really affected by that. The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times.”
I would link to the Fox News article but they put up all sorts of pictures of Kate Upton half dressed. They do that a lot, don’t they? It half seems that the Fox News website is manned by teenage boys.
Anyway, good to hear that Kate Upton is a Christian even though she’s mocked for it. We’re all in different places on our spiritual journey. It’s easy to mock models so I won’t. I much prefer to mock bioethicists, college professors, and politicians.

There is actually a Christian tradition of tattooing, namely in Croatia—tattooing Christian symbols was an act of defiance against the Turks.

I agree we're all in different places in our spiritual journey but that doesn't mean we shouldn't correct each other when we represent Christ wrongly. I hope someone points out to Kate that promoting the salvation of Jesus Christ while also promoting her half-naked body to the world is a contradiction in what it means to follow Jesus. He called us to bear our cross, not wear it. We are to offer our body as a living sacrifice, not a living centerfold. I'm glad she is a devoted Christian. However, even you pointed out their her own photos are not worthy of posting on your own webpage.
Now, lets get back to mocking the social elite like Matt Damon.

To this day, the most controversial post I ever had on my blog was when I blogged about the lovely and talented Miss Adriana Lima, who proclaimed herself to be a devout, pro-life, scapular-wearing Catholic, while posing half naked for GQ and the Victoria Secret catalog.

Hardly a "model of modesty", IMO. And, for me at least, a near occassion of sin to be avoided.

I wonder if she will complain when they airbrush over her cross tatoo with photoshop before publication.

I understand that the Copts in Egypt also have a tattoo on their wrist, above the vein. The idea is that it makes it more difficult for their children to be stolen and forced to convert.
