I know that Dads are just fat balding idiots who are the punch line of every commercial and sitcom you see. But statistics from the website Fatherless Generation tells you a lot about the dangers of belittling fathers and messing with the family structure.
•63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (US Dept. Of Health/Census) – 5 times the average.
•90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes – 32 times the average.
•85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control)
•80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes –14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26)
•71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (National Principals Association Report)
Hey, maybe we shouldn’t continue monkeying with the family. You can produce all the studies you want showing how irrelevant Dads are but nobody thinks Dads are important….except kids.

This is what Bill O'Reilly has been driving home the past few months. I can't stand to listen to the guy most of the time, but on the point of the broken family, he has been asking a lot of hard questions.

Our society is screwed. Feminazis have convinced women that they don't need men around. (I am a woman.)

To believe that having no father makes no difference, means I would have to deny everything I see around me. The studies are important to convince politicians or people whose lives aren't impacted by living them or reality, but when you see the results of a hard working single mother you can't help thinking the devil convinced the man he could up and leave, that she can take care of 'it'. Convinced rich women that they can benefit on the backs of poor women who suffer the results of their agenda. The lies can blind us. They can. But those with eyes can see and ears can hear, if they choose to. It's all right there in front of you.

Many advertisements mock not only men but also women and the family. I refer not to gentle humor but to genuine contempt for stability. The 'net now makes it easy to write to the manufacturers and to the broadcasting stations to state, with reason and courtesy, that you won't be buying their products until they stop attacking you, marriage, and the family on the air.

That new study on "married" gay and lesbian couples in Canada shows the same thing. Children of "married" men don't fare too bad, but children of "married" women only graduate high school at 65% the rate of children of male and female married couples. It's not that two women can't love a child — it's that fathers in the home are IMPORTANT. Just substituting a second person for a father doesn't work.
