My 14 year old daughter was asked out by a boy.
This is a first for me. Yes, it’s a big deal. I’ve had five kids. Now I have four kids and a teenager…who gets asked out by boys!!! Well “boy” in the singular but “Boys!!!!” sounds more dramatic so…
Don’t worry. My daughter said no. Wait. She didn’t actually say “no.” She said “My Dad would kill me and probably you too.” And I’m ok with that. I’m ok with being the bad guy. She didn’t tell the guy that she didn’t want anything to do with him, she just said that my father is a lunatic and its probably best if we don’t do anything to provoke him. And once again, I’m ok with that. It’s a way of letting them down easy with an implied threat of dismemberment.

As a deacon, I believe that Deacon Sandy needs a sabbatical retreat…a long sabbatical retreat. BTW, Deacon Sandy, the days of the Kumbaya Church of the 60's is over.

Proof is in the pudding. Deacon Sandy has been called out on his horrible error. Now, can he apologize for doing this? If not, why? The problem is no longer with people pointing it out, but his failure to grasp what he just did.

sorry, don't give a damn what "Bishop Fellay" says. He is not the Bishop of Rome…We have a Pope..don't like him? Who cares? You can just be an apostate if you like. Your choice..

I looked up "fine vestments" and I did NOT find this picture. I looked up Pope Benedict red shoes and I DID find this exact picture. I think the Reverend Mr. Sandy knew exactly what he was doing.

I'm surprised the priest didn't stop the "homily" at that point. BTW the role of a deacon is not to preach all the time, but to do works of charity in persona christi. Deacons are only supposed to preach in exceptional circumstances. Time to stop yapping and get doing.

I feel this Deacon is a person who never cares for knowledge, wisdom, humility, respect, tolerance and love.Let us not accuse him, let us pray for God,s mercy on him to give wisdom and humility. Whatever be , such persons should not be allowed to give sermon. I can exchange a word of love if I can get his email id.

St. Francis was a deacon who was never ordained because he felt unworthy to be a priest. There were no permanent deacons at that time. Permanent deacons today seem to be clerics who felt that the lay life was unworthy of them.
The permanent diaconate was a way to get the "camel's nose under the tent" in the wish of many of the attendees at Vatican II to ordain married men.
Priests only recently invented day to day "headaches" in their "jobs." The priesthood is a calling to sacrifice and privation; a life in service. The married state is the same except that the service is to the man's family for the good of the Church. These two callings are mutually exclusive.

In June 1988 Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre announced his intention to consecrate Fellay and three other priests as bishops. Lefebvre did not have a pontifical mandate for these consecrations (i.e. permission from the pope), normally required by Canon 1382 of the Code of Canon Law. On 17 June 1988 Cardinal Bernardin Gantin, prefect of the Congregation for Bishops sent Fellay a formal canonical warning that he would automatically incur the penalty of excommunication if he were ordained by Lefebvre without papal permission.
On 30 June 1988 Fellay and the three other priests were consecrated bishop by Archbishop Lefebvre. On 1 July 1988 Cardinal Gantin issued a declaration stating that Lefebvre, Fellay, and the three other newly-ordained bishops "have incurred ipso facto the excommunication latae sententiae reserved to the Apostolic See".
