Washington Wizard’s John Wall recently grew close to a little girl named Miyah who was afflicted with leukemia. He sent out this video recently asking rap star Nicki Minaj to meet the little girl who wanted a pink wig as well -a trademark of Minaj.

The two bonded. But on Saturday, 6 year old Miyah lost her battle with cancer. Monday night, after an amazing game, Wall broke down talking about her.

After the game he wrote:

“If you were blessed to meet and get to know Miyah you know how special of a little girl she was,” he wrote. “I’m saddened by the news but I know that she’s in a better place. Keep her family in your prayers. I’ll definitely miss my buddy. Rest In Peace Miyah.”
