My nine year old son was wrestling his seven year old sister (which they always do) and it got a little rough. So I jumped in and I reminded him that he has to be gentle with her as he’s a little older.

“Anyway,” my 12 year old daughter inserted into the conversation. “It’s never ok for a boy to hit a girl.”

“Ever,” agreed my thirteen year old daughter. “Ever.”

My fifteen year old daughter then warned him that hitting girls is just about the worst thing a boy can do.

“Why is it illegal to hit a girl?” asked the seven year old girl. “Are girls endangered or something?”

The boy looked at her and said, “No. Girls aren’t endangered. If you ask me there’s too many of them.”
