One would have to figure this was a planned line for applause at the Democrat debate. That’s why I can’t figure out how Hillary said something so dumb. I mean, it makes no sense whatsoever.
She first starts off talking about paid leave and then throws in this bit about Planned Parenthood.
“When people say that it’s always the Republicans or their sympathizers who say you can’t have paid leave, you can’t provide health care — they don’t mind having government interfere with a woman’s right to choose or to try to take down Planned Parenthood,” Clinton said to mounting applause. “They’re fine with big government when it comes to that. I’m sick of it!”
So now, attempting to cut funding is BIG GOVERNMENT? What?
It didn’t matter, liberals are saying it was Hillary’s “best moment of the night” or something.
And here’s the thing, Republicans aren’t even seeking to cut funding. They’re seeking to reallocate funding from Planned Parenthood to other women’s health centers that don’t offer abortions. Now, this should not be a big deal because Planned Parenthood says they don’t use any of the taxpayer money they receive for abortion. Yeah, uh-huh.
And you wanna’ talk about hypocrisy, the Dems are for regulating big business. But not when it comes to the abortion industry. Any regulation is seen as harming women, even though they typically argue that regulations protect consumers. So give me a break here.
And one more thing about this criticism of the Republicans seeking to cut funding to Planned Parenthood. Hillary still claims not to have watched the videos by the Center for Medical Progress. So she can claim to be “sick of it” but if she really wanted to get sick she should just watch the video.
